Saxon Huscarls
The large time frame used in the context of Medieval 2: Total War (11th to 16tht century CE) provides an unique opportunity to showcase equipment from various eras. One of the more iconic kit is that of an early Medieval Saxon warrior. By adapting parts from existing models from the earlier Rome: Total War Barbarian Invasion title, which took place in an overlapping era, we can create a detailed model suitable for Medieval 2. Does not contain permutations as it is an unique officer model. Original model, texture, and animation by the Creative Assembly. Polycount: 5818 Tris (includes permutations and weapons) Textures: 1024x1024 diffuse, normal, and gloss Download link: Saxon Huscarls |

Amongst the various unused assets was an unique plate armour set (resembling the early 16th specimen known as the Greenwich armour), which can only be seen in the retail game as ui elements. This is a high-quality remake of the existing model, which with its low-resolution texture and different skeleton set, clearly meant to be used in the Rome: Total War engine. Does not contain permutations as it is an unique officer model. Original model, texture, and animation by the Creative Assembly. Polycount: 2113 Tris (includes weapon) Textures: 512x512 diffuse, normal, and gloss Download link: Southern General Model |
